Regional Ecological Data Collection Project
This project was born from the knowledge that there is a lot of ecological data for Ontario, but not necessarily the Far North. What data exist are incomplete or in a variety of locations. The Regional Ecological Data Collection Project (REDC Project) intends to bring all of these public data together (or to point users in the right direction) for members of the Matawa First Nations, and perhaps, in the future, identify ecological data gaps. As most of these data are public, an Open Data site is an ideal central location. For some datasets, Matawa users will be redirected to the original source, or will need to contact Four Rivers at firstname.lastname@example.org for the full dataset.
What is Open Data?
Open data is the idea that certain data should be freely available to everyone to use and republish as they wish, without restrictions from copyright, patents or other mechanisms of control.
This site provides access to all of our published open data. ArcGIS Open Data can help you track environmental concerns across the globe or all the hiking trails in your community. With ArcGIS Open Data, you can view it, map it, style it, chart it, download it or share it. How you use it is entirely up to you!
